THE "FRIENDS
OF WRAFTON HOUSE" PRACTICE PARTICIPATION GROUP
This group was set up, with the co-operation
of the practice, to provide support for the practice and patients.
They have a base in the room off the reception area of Wrafton House. Since its
formation, money has been raised by subscriptions, donations and raffles. These
funds have been used to:
• Purchase additional medical equipment not available through the National
Health Service.
• Purchase items for the benefit of patients eg air conditioning in the
waiting room, blood pressure testing equipment, weight and height equipment.
The Patient Participation Group is here for the benefit of all patients
and welcomes donations and new volunteers. It has raised funds and furnished their room with specialist equipment. On some mornings they are able to offer blood pressure checks and weighing prior to your appointment to see the doctor or nurse. They are always looking for new members to join the group. If you have some spare time to either help with the running of their room or raise funds they would be delighted to hear from you. More information is available from reception.
There is regular contact between
the group and the doctors and staff. The group is recognised by local NHS Trusts
and PCTs as representing patients.
The PPG can be contacted through reception if the room is closed.
PRIVATE
SERVICES
The practice offers a variety of
private services including private medicals, certain travel immunisations, signing
of certain certificates, reports to solicitors, private consultations and private
visits. Please ask in reception for details.
LETTERS AND REPORTS
Letters and reports always
take a few days to process. If you require an official document (eg
insurance reports, passport forms etc.) please give reasonable notice
of one week.
